Hybrid sunflower D 37 is an early-maturing crop with a vegetation period of 105–108 days, developed by breeders of the V.Ya. Yuryev Institute and included in the State Register for the entire territory of Russia. Plants reach an average height of 175–185 cm, have dark green leaves with moderate blistering and no branching. Flowering occurs early; ray flowers are yellow, and seeds are characterized by dark-striped coloring with weak marginal stripes.
This hybrid exhibits high drought resistance, resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as resilience to major diseases, including fomopsis, fomosis, sclerotinia, and rust. This ensures stable yields, reaching up to 3.92 tons per hectare. The recommended plant density before harvest is 55,000 plants per hectare, which promotes optimal growth and maximum productivity.
The seeds of hybrid D 37 belong to the oil type with oil content in seeds around 50.63%. Additionally, they contain high levels of oleic acid, making them in demand for producing high-quality oils beneficial for human health and widely used in the food industry, including fast food. The heads of the plants are convex with a diameter of 18–20 cm, which also facilitates harvesting and processing.
