Derby potato is an early-maturing Dutch variety with a vegetation period of 80-90 days. Plants form medium-height, spreading bushes with white flowers. Tubers are large, oval-shaped, yellow in color with light-yellow flesh, high in starch content. This variety has excellent taste qualities: tubers barely break down and do not darken when boiled, making them ideal for making mashed potatoes and frying.
Derby is characterized by high yield and low maintenance requirements. It is drought-resistant and has good resistance to several diseases, including late blight, potato scab, and golden nematode. However, the variety is sensitive to PVYntn virus. The number of tubers per plant is 9-11, ensuring good market appearance and high transportability of the harvest.
