Sunflower SUNFIRE CL

French breeding for clean fields

The «Sunfire SL» sunflower hybrid by Maisadour Semences is a direct response to the primary challenge of modern farming: achieving high yields in fields plagued by stubborn weeds or fungal pathogens. Developed in France, this hybrid has become an essential tool for growers who rely on intensive cultivation practices.

Technological potential and resistance

The key advantage of this hybrid is its genetic resistance to imidazolinone herbicides (Clearfield system or «Euro-Lightning»). This allows for effective control of broomrape and a wide spectrum of weeds without compromising the crop. In temperate climates, «Sunfire SL» demonstrates the consistency that is highly valued for long-term yield planning.

Production characteristics

• Vegetation period: 110–120 days, making the hybrid ideal for most climatic zones.
• Oil content: 50–55%, a premium indicator for the oil-processing industry.
• Phytosanitary profile: high resistance to powdery mildew and various types of rot, which significantly reduces the risk of head quality loss during the ripening phase.

Choosing this hybrid means opting for predictable results. Maisadour Semences is renowned for its meticulous approach to genetic selection, which is why «Sunfire SL» exhibits excellent early growth vigor—a critical factor for early sowing. In the field, this sunflower forms uniform, sturdy stands capable of withstanding both stressful weather conditions and disease pressure.
