Potato variety NART 1 is a mid-season table variety with a maturity period of 80-95 days, intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. The plant is tall with upright leafy growth, light green, large leaves with absent or very weak wavy edges. Tubers are oval, with very small eyes, smooth red skin and white flesh. Marketable tuber weight ranges from 68 to 113 grams, and starch content is 14.2-17.0%, which is 2.6% higher than standard varieties such as 'Rose' from Milet and 'Volzhani'. Flavor qualities are rated as good and excellent, and the culinary type CD makes this variety suitable for baking, boiling, and making mashed potatoes. Yield of variety NART 1 is at the level of 125-174 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 227 centners, significantly exceeding yields of some standard varieties. Tubers' marketability ranges from 81 to 98%, and storability reaches 92%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. Number of tubers per plant ranges from 7 to 11, contributing to high plant productivity. The variety exhibits resistance to potato late blight pathogen (pathotype I), as well as to striped mosaic and leaf curl. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode and phytophthora blight on foliage. Moderate resistance is noted to crinkly mosaic. Additionally, the variety is drought-tolerant, making it suitable for cultivation under limited water conditions. The developer of the variety is the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution 'Kabardin-Balkar Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences'.
