Description KURSAKOV PRUNUS DOMESTICA
Kursakova Prunus domestica is a high-yielding plum variety of medium ripening, intended for table use. Trees of this variety are of medium height with an oval, dense crown that can be slightly spreading. Fruiting mainly occurs on one-year-old shoots and spurs, ensuring a stable and annual harvest. The variety is distinguished by good winter hardiness, withstanding temperatures down to -35 °C, as well as resistance to diseases such as clasterosporiosis and moniliosis. Fruits of Kursakova Prunus domestica are large, weighing about 31–36.5 g, with red skin covered with a waxy bloom. The fruit shape is regular, round-oval or slightly elongated. The flesh is dense, juicy, yellowish-green or golden-amber in color, with a sweet-sour taste and pleasant dessert note. The stone separates well from the flesh, making the variety convenient for fresh consumption. The biochemical composition of the fruits is characterized by a high content of dry matter (about 17.6%), sugars (12.3%), ascorbic acid, and catechins, which gives them beneficial properties and a rich taste. The variety is self-sterile, so to increase yield, it is recommended to have other plum varieties nearby as pollinators. The transportability of the fruits is average, which allows them to be used for sale in markets and retail networks. Kursakova Prunus domestica is an excellent choice for gardeners who value the combination of high yield, resistance to unfavorable conditions, and superior fruit taste qualities.
