Description BIG PRIZE PLUM
The plum variety "Big Prize" is a late-season universal variety of a dwarf tree with a medium-density, flat crown. Fruit formations are predominantly located on spur shoots. The leaves are large, elliptical in shape, dark green in color with a serrated edge. The fruits have an elliptical shape, light purple color, and an average mass of about 55 grams. The skin is of medium thickness with a waxy bloom, difficult to remove from the fruit. The flesh is yellow, juicy, of medium density, fibrous, with a pleasant sweet taste, confirmed by a high taste score. The pit is narrowly elliptical and separates well from the flesh. The fruits contain a significant amount of dry matter and sugars, which makes their taste rich and balanced.

The variety is characterized by good winter hardiness and resistance to major diseases such as moniliosis and clasterosporiosis, as well as to aphids. Drought resistance is average, which requires moderate irrigation during dry periods. Average yield is about 198 centners per hectare, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation.

The fruits of "Big Prize" are versatile in use: they are suitable both for fresh consumption and for processing. Thanks to the juicy and dense flesh with good pit separability, the plum is excellent for making jams, preserves, compotes, and other home preserves. The variety is recommended for cultivation in various climatic conditions, ensuring stable fruiting and high-quality harvest.
