Description NOCHKA
The Nochnya plum is a hybrid variety resulting from the cross of the Valery cherry and the Nord Star cherry. This variety features a medium-sized tree with a spherical crown and large fruits that have a wide-round shape, rough skin with a green base and a dark purple covering tint with a waxy bloom. The fruits are juicy, amber-colored with a pronounced cherry aroma and a dessert sweet-and-sour taste, weighing up to 7 grams. The Nochnya plum belongs to mid-season varieties, with flowering occurring in late May to early June, and fruit ripening in late July to early August.

The tree is characterized by high frost hardiness, capable of withstanding temperatures down to -35°C, allowing it to be grown in various climatic conditions. The variety is resistant to a range of diseases, including rust and blotch, and is low-maintenance. However, the Nochnya plum is self-sterile, so for successful fruiting, the presence of pollinators, such as the Nord Star cherry, is required, which are recommended to be planted at a distance of 5-10 meters.

The fruits of the Nochnya plum are suitable for both fresh consumption and preserves. The variety's yield is about 88 centners per hectare, and fruiting begins on the 3rd-4th year after planting, reaching its maximum by the 12th year. For successful growth and development, the tree requires good lighting and fertile soil. Due to its taste qualities, frost hardiness, and disease resistance, the Nochnya plum is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking to obtain tasty and aromatic fruits.
