Description
The 'Debut' plum variety belongs to the early maturity period and is intended for dessert consumption. The tree is of medium size, fast-growing, with a spherical, slightly raised canopy of medium density. The bark on the trunk and main branches is smooth and brown. Shoots are thick, straight, brownish-brown, and hairless. Leaves are of medium size, elliptical in shape, short-pointed, green, matte with a serrated edge. Inflorescences are double, with large white flowers of a rose-like shape. Fruits are large, uniform, round, with an average mass of about 42.3 g. The primary fruit color is orange, the covering color is solid purple-brown. The skin is of medium roughness, hairless, with a waxy coating, and is difficult to peel off. The flesh is yellow with a greenish tint, of medium density, and juicy. The juice is colorless with a pleasant sweet-sour taste. The pit is small, round, blunt, smooth, and separates well from the flesh. The fruits contain about 9.9% sugars, 0.82% acids, and 5.2 mg% of vitamin C. The tasting score for the variety is 4.3 points. The variety is distinguished by good yield — about 150 centners per hectare, as well as high transportability. Debut has high drought resistance and medium heat tolerance. It is affected by diseases to a very weak degree, which makes it a reliable choice for growing in various climatic conditions. Fruit formations are mainly located on fruit spurs, the pedicel is of medium length, separates poorly from the branch, and has a strong attachment to the pit.
