Petty of the 'Good Morning' variety is a high-yield mid-season variety of root parsley, intended for obtaining both greens and root crops. The period from germination to technical maturity of root crops ranges from 100 to 130 days, while greens are ready for cutting as early as 50-60 days after sowing. The leaf rosette is vertical or semi-spreading, 33-35 cm high, with large, aromatic, and tender leaves that have a pleasant taste and are suitable for fresh consumption and culinary processing. The root crops are elongated-conical, weighing 60-100 g, up to 20 cm long, with white flesh, characterized by a smooth surface and good storability, which allows them to be stored during the winter period and used for preparing winter preserves and seasonings.
Green mass yield varies from 1.8 to 2.5 kg per square meter, and root crop yield reaches 2.5-3.5 kg per square meter. For an earlier harvest, winter sowing with dry seeds at the end of October – beginning of November is possible, while the main sowing in open ground is recommended to be carried out with a seed sowing depth of 1-1.5 cm from April 20 to May 10 on a sunny site, following a planting scheme of 20x5 cm. Before sowing, seeds are desirable to be soaked in warm water for a day with several water changes to improve germination.
During cultivation, plants require regular watering, weeding, loosening, and fertilizing, especially after each greens cutting. At the two- to three-true leaf stage, seedlings must be thinned to ensure optimal development. When growing for root crops, mass greens cutting is not carried out, which contributes to the formation of large and quality root crops. The variety is resistant to diseases, which facilitates care and increases yield stability.
