Italian Bogatyr parsley is a universal early variety designed for cultivation in both open and protected ground. The vegetative period to obtain greens is about 55-65 days, while for marketable root formation it ranges from 120 to 160 days. The plant forms a large rosette 20-40 cm high with 30-100 large dark green leaves possessing a strong aroma and juicy structure. Leaves regrow well after cutting, allowing for several harvests of greens per season. The variety is undemanding regarding soil and care, but requires regular watering and loosening to ensure optimal growth. If necessary, fertilization is recommended, which improves the quality and quantity of the harvest. The seeds of the variety are coated, which facilitates sowing and increases germination. Italian Bogatyr is grown primarily for green mass, but with prolonged cultivation, medium-sized root vegetables with tender white flesh can be obtained. Parsley of this variety is widely used fresh, and also suitable for drying and canning thanks to its rich aroma and juiciness. To obtain root vegetables, it is recommended not to cut the greens so the plant can direct its energy to root development. Thanks to its universal characteristics and high yield, the Italian Bogatyr variety is an excellent choice for both home cultivation and commercial production of greens and root vegetables.
