The flesh is dense, and in underripe condition, it has a tart flavor that disappears after the fruits are stored in a cool place or frozen. After ripening, the date becomes soft, sweet, and tender, with a pleasant texture. Due to its late ripening, the fruits can remain on the tree until the first frost, allowing for an extended harvest period.
