Chernyaye's Memory is an early Ukrainian hybrid, developed through selective breeding and cross-pollination of large-fruited and cold-resistant varieties. The tree reaches a height of 3 to 5 meters, has a wide canopy that is easily shaped by pruning. Leaves are large, oval-shaped, dark green. The variety is highly cold-resistant — mature trees can withstand temperatures down to -25...-27°C, although covering for winter is recommended during the first three years after planting. The fruit is resistant to most diseases and thrives on sunny, wind-protected sites with loamy, sandy-loam, and well-drained soils. Fruits are large, oval-shaped with slight flattening at the base, weighing from 240 to 350 grams and up to 10 cm in diameter. Their skin is thin, bright orange with reddish sides. The flesh is light brown, very juicy, tender, practically fiber-free and seedless, with a rich sweet taste and pleasant aroma. Fruits ripen in the first decade or by the end of October and can be stored under normal conditions for one to two months, ensuring good transportability and fruit preservation. Chernyaye's Memory is highly productive — a mature tree can yield 100 to 250 kg of fruit annually. Fruit-bearing begins on the 3rd to 4th year after planting. Due to its qualities and adaptation to Ukraine's climate, this variety has great potential for widespread cultivation and occupies a special place among domestic date varieties. It combines cold resistance, high fruit quality, and disease resistance, making it attractive to gardeners and farmers.
