ZLATEN'

Pepper variety 'Zlaten' is a medium-early variety with a vegetation period of 115 to 125 days, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic coverings. Plants form a compact semi-shrub bush about 60-65 cm tall with a semi-spreading form. Fruits have an oval-conical shape, smooth and glossy surface, average weight of 90-110 g, with individual specimens reaching up to 180 g. Fruit wall thickness varies from 7 to 8 mm, and the number of chambers ranges from 3 to 4. In technical maturity, fruits are light green, turning bright golden-yellow or orange upon full ripening.

The pepper flesh is juicy, crisp, with a distinct honey-sweet and aromatic flavor, making this variety especially attractive for home cooking. 'Zlaten' is ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for canning, marinating, and preparing traditional dishes such as lecho. The variety exhibits good fruit set and uniformity, contributing to a high-quality harvest.

Despite its high flavor quality, the yield may be lower than expected, especially under unfavorable growing conditions. In plastic greenhouses, yield reaches 6.5-7 kg per square meter, but in open ground or under high temperatures or dry weather, it may drop to 1.4 kg per square meter. The variety shows resistance to fungal diseases, simplifying care and increasing the chances of obtaining a healthy harvest.
