The sweet pepper variety 'Orange Wonder' is an early-maturing, disease-resistant hybrid intended for cultivation in open ground. The plant is medium-height, compact, and slightly branching, reaching a height of 80 to 110 cm. To increase yield, it is recommended to prune the plant and tie stems, along with regular moderate watering and mineral fertilization throughout the entire growing season. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to viral diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, as well as to verticillium and fusarium wilt.
The pepper fruits are cube-shaped, bright orange in color, reaching a length of 10–11 cm and a diameter of 8–9 cm, with a wall thickness of 7 to 10 mm. The weight of a single fruit ranges from 200 to 250 grams. The flesh is dense and juicy, with a distinct pleasant sweet flavor and high beta-carotene content. In technical maturity, the fruits are dark green, turning to a vibrant orange upon biological ripening. The fruit is divided into 3–4 chambers.
The variety is characterized by good yield — 7 to 14 kg per square meter, depending on growing conditions. The yield withstands transportation and long-term storage well. 'Orange Wonder' pepper is versatile in application: it is excellent for fresh consumption, as well as for thermal processing, canning, stuffing, and freezing. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to use loamy, well-aerated soils, and to follow agronomic practices such as seed treatment before sowing, transplanting at the 1–2 true leaf stage, and planting seedlings after the threat of frost has passed, at a spacing of 70x40 cm.
