Pepper SEMEN DEZHNEV

Field Performance: Growing 'Semen Dezhnev' Pepper

When working with the 'Semen Dezhnev' variety from the 'Belogorka' agro-firm, you quickly realize it is a reliable choice for open-field cultivation. Developed by breeders such as Kuznetsova O.A. and Sedyakov M.V., this sweet pepper variety is engineered to thrive in variable climatic conditions, making it a robust option for commercial production.

Agronomic Management and Field Experience

The variety shows excellent adaptability in open soil, requiring minimal specialized infrastructure. Key observations for field managers include:

• Plant Architecture: The plants demonstrate strong vegetative growth and maintain a sturdy structure, which simplifies the training and staking process during the season.
• Quality Control: The fruits possess firm skin, ensuring high marketability after harvesting and long-distance transport, which is essential for profitability.
• Maintenance Requirements: This is a low-maintenance crop. It responds well to standard fertilization protocols and is not overly sensitive to minor fluctuations in nutrient application, making it easier for field crews to manage.

For optimal results, consistent water management during the fruit-set stage is critical. 'Semen Dezhnev' performs best when provided with balanced irrigation, allowing it to reach its full potential in fruit size and weight. Its resilience against common environmental stressors is a significant advantage for open-field farming.
