Dayana

The 'Dayana' carrot is a mid-season variety of Altai origin with a vegetative period of 112 to 120 days. The root has a cylindrical shape with a slight tapering towards the bottom and weighs between 90 and 180 grams. The outer and inner color of the carrot is bright orange, indicating a high carotene content, reaching up to 20.3 mg per 100 g of raw material. The plant leaves are dark green, deeply lobed, with a semi-spreading rosette.

The variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 6.3 to 8.9 kg per square meter, with maximum yields reaching 598 c/ha. The marketable yield is between 75 and 94%, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation. 'Dayana' carrots have high sugar content (from 6.9 to 10.7%) and dry matter (12.2-12.7%), ensuring excellent taste qualities and suitability for both fresh consumption and processing.

Due to good storage capabilities and the ability to maintain taste qualities during storage, the 'Dayana' variety is recommended for winter storage. Seeds are sown early in spring or in autumn at a depth of 1-1.5 cm with inter-row spacing of 25 cm and plant spacing of 3-4 cm. This carrot variety combines high productivity, excellent taste characteristics, and versatility, making it in demand among gardeners and farmers.
