MOJAVE pepper is an early hot hybrid developed by Sakata, a Japanese breeding company, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and under plastic cover. The plant features a strong, well-branched structure with a well-developed root system, ensuring high stress resistance to adverse weather conditions and resistance to major diseases, including tobacco mosaic virus, as well as white and black rot. The vegetative period is approximately 70-75 days from planting, allowing for a stable and abundant harvest.
MOJAVE peppers have a conical shape, smooth and thick-walled, with wall thickness ranging from 3 to 5 mm. Fruit size varies from 5 to 12 cm in length, with weight ranging from 120 to 150 g. In technical maturity, they have a dark green color, which turns into a rich red or purplish-red hue upon full ripening. The pepper has a pronounced spiciness and a sharp flavor, making it a versatile ingredient for making hot sauces, marinades, drying, and fresh use as a seasoning.
MOJAVE is characterized by a long fruiting period and the ability to retain its market appearance for an extended period, making it popular in the market. It withstands transportation and long-term storage while preserving its flavor and spiciness. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including cold ones, thus maintaining high spiciness and yield.
