Marseille pepper is a rare sweet variety originating from southern France, characterized by compact and low-growing bushes that can even be grown in pots. Plants reach a height of 40 to 60 cm, and the fruits have a distinctive wrinkled shape and bright yellow color. Each fruit weighs between 130 to 170 grams. The flesh is thin-walled, crisp, and sweet with a rich aroma and delicate citrus note, giving the pepper a unique flavor. The maturation period is 90 to 110 days, making it a mid-early variety.

This variety is distinguished by high yield and good disease resistance, while also being low-maintenance. The plants are semi-spreading with long, wide, dark green leaves. The fruits are suitable for various preparation methods: they can be pickled, dried, stuffed, or used for making preserves. In Provence, green peppers are traditionally harvested and roasted whole in olive oil with a filling of eggs, garlic, Gruyère cheese, and parsley, which highlights their unique flavor.

The Marseille variety stores well and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground, greenhouses, or containers of 10 liters or more.
