Dumas

Dumas pepper is a medium-early sweet pepper of tomato type, suitable for cultivation in greenhouses (glass and plastic) as well as in open ground. The fruits of this variety are upright, round, with thick walls ranging from 8 to 12 mm, ensuring excellent fleshiness and density. The average weight of the fruits varies from 70 to 200 grams; technical ripeness is characterized by dark green color, while biological ripeness is marked by rich red color. The ripening period is 90 to 115 days from germination to technical ripeness, allowing for relatively quick harvest. Sowing for seedlings is recommended at the end of February, followed by transplanting in the cotyledon stage. Planting in the ground is carried out at the end of May with an optimal planting scheme of 35 × 40 cm, which promotes good plant development and formation of high-quality fruits. The variety is distinguished by excellent market appearance and high taste qualities, making it in demand both for fresh consumption and for processing and canning. Additionally, Dumas pepper has excellent storability and good transportability, enabling it to retain freshness during long-term transportation and storage. These characteristics make the variety universal and convenient for cultivation in various climatic conditions and on different soil types. Production of the variety takes place in the Czech Republic, guaranteeing high seed quality and stable yield.
