TARKVINIO

TARKVINIO is a medium-early, high-yielding hybrid of sweet pepper developed by the Dutch brand Nunhems. The plant is vigorous, with large green leaves, and exhibits high resistance to high temperatures, overwatering, and lodging. The vegetative period ranges from 90 to 100 days from transplanting, making it suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in polyethylene greenhouses. The hybrid is recommended for summer harvest and is characterized by high productivity and stability under various climatic conditions. TARKVINIO’s fruits are large, cube-shaped with a slightly elongated form, 12-13 cm long and 6-8 mm thick. They are dense, heavy, weighing 300–400 grams, with a glossy surface. As they ripen, the fruit color changes from green to a deep red. The flavor is excellent, making this pepper popular for both fresh consumption and processing. The fruits easily detach from the plant due to their long and sturdy peduncles, simplifying harvest. Moreover, the peppers store well even when overripe. The hybrid shows high resistance to Tobacco Mosaic Virus (Tm0) and Potato Virus Y (PVY), and moderate resistance to Tomato Spotted Wilt Virus (TSWV) and Cucumber Mosaic Virus (CMV). Marketable yield reaches 202–325 centners per hectare, with a marketable product output of up to 95%. These characteristics make TARKVINIO an excellent choice for commercial cultivation and fresh market sales.
