Description BULL'S EAR
Sweet pepper 'Bull's Ear' is a mid-early, high-yielding variety suitable for cultivation both in open ground and greenhouses. The plant reaches a height of 55 to 75 cm, featuring a robust, sprawling bush with strong stems that do not deform under the weight of the fruit. The bushes require staking and possess a well-developed root system, contributing to resistance against adverse weather conditions and diseases such as tobacco mosaic virus, verticillium wilt, and blossom end rot. The vegetative period lasts 90–100 days, enabling relatively quick harvest. The fruit of 'Bull's Ear' pepper are large, elongated-conical, measuring 12 to 20 cm in length and averaging 180 to 250 grams in weight. They have a wall thickness of 5 to 8 mm, resulting in juicy, succulent, and firm flesh. At technical maturity, the fruits are green, and at biological maturity, they turn bright red. The pepper possesses excellent flavor and pleasant aroma, which remain intact even after prolonged storage and transportation. Vitamin C and other micronutrients present in the flesh make this variety beneficial for health. The 'Bull's Ear' variety is versatile: fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and preservation. When subjected to heat treatment, they retain their flavor, color, and shape, making them ideal for various preparation methods and storage. Yield per plant ranges from 1 to 2 kg, ensuring a good harvest for gardeners and farmers. High transportability and storability of the fruits allow them to maintain their appearance and quality during transport and long-term storage.
