Description VLADIMIR NOVIKOV
The 'Vladimir Novikov' peony species is a shrub semi-shrub peony bred at the Biological Faculty of MSU named after M.V. Lomonosov and named after Professor Vladimir Sergeevich Novikov. The shrub reaches a height of 1 to 1.5 meters and forms a lush rounded shape with semi-spreading branches. The foliage is dark green, narrow, and lace-like, harmoniously complementing the large flowers to create an impressive decorative combination. The inflorescences are sturdy and located above the level of the leaves, which prevents them from drooping under the weight of the flowers.

The peony flowers are large, saucer-shaped, with a diameter of about 15-16 cm, in a rich beet-red shade with a fuchsia spot at the base of the petals. Inside the flower are raspberry stamens with bright yellow anthers, which give the flower additional expressiveness. Bud opening begins in mid-June, and up to 15 inflorescences may form on one branch. The aroma of the flowers is intense and intoxicating, but does not cause headaches or allergic reactions, which makes the variety particularly attractive for use in gardens.

The 'Vladimir Novikov' variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and minimal susceptibility to diseases, which makes it one of the most hardy among shrub peonies. Thanks to sturdy inflorescences and resistance to adverse conditions, this peony is perfect for both small garden plots and extensive green areas. Its brightness and decorativeness are maintained throughout the season, which makes it a valuable ornament to any landscape.
