Peony NOVOST ALTAIA

Growing Experience: Peony 'Novost Altaya'

If you are looking for a variety that is hassle-free to maintain, 'Novost Altaya' from FANTSA is a perfect example of aesthetics meeting predictable plant behavior. Unlike complex hybrids that demand constant attention, this herbaceous peony demonstrates remarkable stability in the garden.

Maintenance and Cultivation

From an agrotechnical perspective, this variety is highly responsive to fertile soil. It is crucial to incorporate nutrient-rich substrate at planting, as in poor soils, the blooms may lose diameter and fail to reach the specified 15 cm. The plant height (90–100 cm) requires some management: during the peak of the blooming season (late May to mid-June), heavy flowers may lean towards the ground, making the installation of support structures an essential part of your seasonal maintenance.

Technical Specifications

• Type: Herbaceous peony with simple, soft pink petals.
• Sunlight Requirements: Requires full sun exposure; in partial shade, shoots tend to become leggy, and blooming is significantly reduced.
• Decorative Period: Its mid-season bloom time makes it an ideal centerpiece for flower beds just before summer begins.

'Novost Altaya' is the choice for those who value reliability. It does not require specific winter coverings or complex horticultural techniques, yet it maintains excellent shape if provided with sufficient nutrients and sunlight. In terms of landscape design, this peony is versatile and undemanding, appearing equally impressive as a standalone feature or integrated into mixed borders.
