Peony CHINA MAID

China Maid is an anemone-form hybrid of the tree peony, created in 1943 by breeder Muravskaya. The plant is a perennial herbaceous bush with a height of 90 to 100 cm and a wide-spreading shape. The stems of the peony are thin but strong, colored dark anthocyanin, which gives the plant decorativeness even outside the flowering period. Leaves are a rich green color, glossy and maintain an attractive appearance until autumn.

China Maid flowers are large, about 20 cm in diameter, with an original Japanese form. They are light lilac-pink in color with one or two rows of wide petals and a central disk of narrow light yellow petaloid staminodes. Flowering occurs in the mid-late period and lasts up to 11 days, accompanied by a pleasant floral aroma. Such a combination of shape, color, and aroma makes this variety universal and attractive to gardeners.

The China Maid peony is distinguished by high endurance and unpretentiousness, which is characteristic of herbaceous peonies. It withstands frost well and is able to grow in one place for more than 20 years without transplanting.
