IVAN GOROZHANKIN

The Peony cultivar "Ivan Gorozhankin" is a perennial herbaceous plant with an erect, compact, and densely foliated bush, reaching a height of 100 to 110 cm. The plant's leaves are dark green, which accentuates the bush's decorativeness during the vegetative period. This cultivar belongs to the group of double-less peonies and is characterized by high winter hardiness, making it universal for growing in various regions.

The peony flowers of "Ivan Gorozhankin" are large, with diameters ranging from 16 to 21 cm, bowl-shaped or goblet-shaped, and a deep red color. Each flower stalk bears a single flower that has a strong aroma, adding attractiveness to the plant in the garden. Flowering occurs in late May, allowing one to enjoy bright and aromatic flowers at the beginning of summer.

The cultivar was created in 1996 at the Botanical Garden of Lomonosov Moscow State University within the framework of domestic breeding aimed at developing cultivars adapted to the conditions of the central region of Russia. Thanks to its decorative qualities, resistance to winter conditions, and versatility of application, the peony "Ivan Gorozhankin" is an excellent choice for gardeners wishing to decorate their plots with bright and aromatic flowers.
