Peony VOBROJEVSKIY

Breeding Heritage and Morphology

The tree peony 'Vorobyovsky' is the product of breeding work at the Botanical Garden of Lomonosov Moscow State University, representing a benchmark of adaptability to temperate climates. The key feature of this variety is its ability to combine decorative aesthetics with high viability: the bush, reaching up to 100 cm in height, forms a powerful woody structure that successfully withstands extreme temperature drops down to -35°C.

Biological Parameters of the Flower

During the flowering period, which falls between May 31 and June 15, the plant demonstrates high quality metrics for its reproductive organs:

• Flower type: semi-double, providing a balance between petal density and elegance of form.
• Diameter: 18–20 cm, classifying the variety as a large-flowered member of the group.
• Color: a pure white tone that maintains saturation and freshness throughout the life of the bloom.

Practical Application and Agrotechnical Potential

Choosing 'Vorobyovsky' is justified in both landscape design and professional floriculture. The rigidity of the peduncles allows the variety to be used for cut flowers — the buds hold their shape well and possess high transportability. In garden architecture, this peony is effective in solitary plantings and mixed borders where a visual centerpiece is required. The high frost resistance threshold minimizes the risk of losing planting material, making it a preferred choice for regions with harsh winters and unstable spring temperatures.
