Ksenia

The 'Ksenia' pear variety is a winter variety with very large, high-quality fruits bred by the Moldovan Institute of Horticulture. The fruits are of a pear shape, weighing between 210 and 400 grams. At harvest, their skin is rough, green in color with a red blush, and turns pale yellow with a slight blush on the sun-exposed side upon ripening. The flesh is tender, juicy, slightly oily, white in color, with a sweet-and-sour taste and a distinct aroma, ensuring high taste quality.

The variety is characterized by high yield—up to 42 kg per tree—as well as excellent marketability and very good storability when kept in a refrigerator and during marketing. Fruits ripen at the end of September to the beginning of October, which allows for their use during the winter period. Plants are of medium height, possess increased resistance to fungal diseases such as scab, and bacterial leaf burn, making the variety reliable and convenient for cultivation.
