Summer variety, developed at the North Caucasus Regional Institute of Horticulture and Viticulture by breeder L. M. Sergeev. Parental forms are unknown. The variety is registered in the North Caucasus region and is under testing in Stavropol Krai and Rostov Oblast.
Medium-sized tree with an oval-pyramidal crown of moderate density. Main scaffold branches emerge from the trunk at an angle close to vertical. Medium leafiness. Bark on the trunk and main branches is smooth, dark gray. Dominant type of fruit formation — complex rings.
Medium-sized, arched, rounded shoots, hairy at the top, yellowish in color, with small, slightly convex stipules; buds are pressed, dark brown, elongated. Leaves of medium size, lanceolate, green, smooth, slightly shiny, arranged like a boat; leaf blade is elastic, thin, margin slightly toothed; petiole of medium length, thin; stipules small.
Flowers of medium size, white, dish-shaped, stamens and pistils at the same level, petals oval. Best pollinators: Bere Ziffar, Lyubimitsa Klappa, Williams.
Fruits of medium size, broad pear-shaped. Skin dry, slightly rough, shiny, greenish at the time of harvest, with a diffuse pink-purple blush over most of the fruit, few lenticels. Peduncle medium or short, slightly curved, fruit surface smooth, covered with rust spots, small or absent depression, closed calyx, small, medium-fine dish. Heart small, bulbous, chambers closed, small. Seeds medium, brown.
Flesh light-yellow, tender, oily, juicy, slightly sour-sweet, with a very pleasant aroma, high flavor quality. Under Kuban conditions, fruits contain dry matter — 13.8%, sugars — 8.4%, titratable acids — 0.57%, ascorbic acid — 10.7 mg/100g, P-active catechins — 69.0 mg/100g dry matter.
Harvest period — August 10–20, storage life up to 15 days.
Fruits are used fresh and processed (dried, compotes). Transportability good.
Tree begins fruiting at 6–7 years. Average yield in central Kuban at 15 years — 160–180 centners per hectare.
The variety is not very demanding on growing conditions, can grow on any soils, but higher quality fruits are obtained on light, sufficiently moist soils. The variety is relatively resistant to scab. Trees are fairly winter-hardy and drought-tolerant.
Advantages of the variety: good winter hardiness and drought resistance, high yield and high fruit flavor quality; serves as a donor of high fruit flavor.
Disadvantages of the variety: small fruit size, formation of netting from copper-containing preparations.
