Summer variety selected by A. M. Lukashov, obtained at the Khabarovsk Fruit and Berry Nursery from crossing the medium-Russian variety Ilyinka with the Ussuri pear. The first fruiting occurred in 1943; propagation began in 1947. Approved for cultivation in Primorsky and Khabarovsk regions. Widely grown in the same areas as the 'Tema' variety, especially in collective and private gardens.
Medium-sized tree with a compact crown.
Shoots are straight and thick. Buds are large, rounded-oval, slightly swollen. Fruit production is concentrated on 2-3-year-old wood, with fruiting clusters and short spurs. Leaves are broadly egg-shaped, with blunt, rounded, or heart-shaped bases. Leaf blades are wavy, dark green, without hairs. Margins are finely toothed. Petioles are long, thin, light green with an orange tint.
Fruits are small (average weight 45 g, maximum 65 g), short pear-shaped, slightly round. Skin is firm. Main fruit color is yellow-green, with a diffuse purplish-red blush. Pedicels are long, medium thickness, curved. Receptacle is shallow, calyx is open, and the flower cup is shallow. Seed chambers are closed, seeds are large, elongated-oval, dark brown.
Flesh is white, juicy, slightly acidic-sweet. Among the 'Lukashov' varieties, it is the best in taste. The flesh contains: dry matter — 17.3%, total sugars — 11.4%, titratable acids — 0.8%, tannins — 0.6%, pectin — 0.4%, ascorbic acid — 4.2 mg/100g, P-active substances — 220 mg/100g.
Fruits ripen at the end of August and are suitable for immediate consumption from the tree. Fruit attachment is strong. Storage life is 10-15 days. Good table variety, suitable for making compotes, jams, and drying whole fruits.
Begins fruiting in the 3rd year; mass fruiting occurs in the 6th year after grafting. Yield is lower than other 'Lukashov' varieties, but regular. Over 20 years of monitoring, yields averaged 650 kg per tree or 32.5 kg annually, with a maximum of 45 kg per tree.
Trees are winter-hardy and heat-tolerant. The variety is resistant to scab and other diseases.
Advantages of the variety: relatively high winter and heat resistance, regular yield, resistance to scab, relatively good table variety.
Disadvantages of the variety: small, perishable fruits with limited storage life, lower yield compared to other 'Lukashov' varieties.
Used in interspecific crosses in breeding for improved fruit flavor.
