Description Grand Champion
The Grand Champion pear is a medium-sized tree with a compact pyramidal crown, reaching a height of about 2-2.5 meters. This variety is early-bearing, starts fruiting on the 3rd-4th year after planting, and is characterized by high yield — up to 60 kg of fruit can be harvested from a mature tree. Grand Champion is resistant to low temperatures and moderate drought, as well as to diseases of the root system and above-ground parts, making it a reliable choice for gardeners and farmers.

The fruit is large, weighing 190 to 250 grams, with an elongated-pear shape and a broad base. The skin is light green with bronze and burgundy tones, covered with golden-brown speckles, giving the fruit an attractive market appearance. The flesh is creamy, tender, oily in texture, juicy and sweet with a pleasant dessert aroma and excellent sweet-sour flavor. Consumer ripeness occurs in the second to third decade of September, and the fruit storage period lasts 1.5-2 months.

The Grand Champion variety is valued for its high taste quality, market properties, and versatility. It requires little care, has no alternate bearing, and adapts well to various soil-climate conditions. Recommended for cultivation in both amateur gardens and commercial fruit businesses. Cross-pollination is recommended for successful fruiting, as well as compatibility with apple rootstocks.
