Peach REFRESHING

NBS-NNC RAS selection: Reliability in every fruit

The 'Osvezhayushchiy' (Refreshing) peach variety is a result of many years of work by the breeders at the Nikitsky Botanical Garden (NBS-NNC RAS), embodying the classic standards of the Crimean fruit-growing school. Developed by Valentina Orekhova and Tatyana Latsko, this variety has secured a stable position in commercial horticulture due to its harvest predictability and high adaptability to harsh climatic conditions.

Agronomic Profile

The vigorous 'Osvezhayushchiy' tree requires proper canopy management, but it fully compensates for labor costs with its high productivity. The fruits, weighing 180 grams, feature a classic round shape and an attractive appearance: an intense red blush over a rich yellow background makes the produce highly appealing for retail.

Taste and Post-Harvest Qualities

The core characteristic of this variety is its balanced sweet-and-sour flavor and succulent, fibrous flesh. The pit separates easily, which is a critical factor for both processing plants and end consumers. The firmness of the fruits ensures they can be transported over long distances without losing their marketability.

Role in Commercial Production

The key advantage of 'Osvezhayushchiy' is its high drought tolerance. In the context of changing climate patterns and limited irrigation resources, the tree's ability to maintain vitality and fruit production becomes a deciding factor when selecting varieties for new orchard plantations. The variety fully meets industrial standards, combining planting longevity with consistent yields.
