Peach LIKES GIFT

Reliable Yields in Challenging Climates

The «Podarok Like» (Gift to Like) peach variety, developed by the Nikitsky Botanical Garden (T.A. Latsko and A.V. Smykov), is a preferred choice for growers prioritizing climate resilience. The primary practical value of this variety lies in its robust adaptability: the tree confidently withstands temperatures as low as -23°C and shows remarkable drought tolerance, which is critical for regions with unstable weather patterns.

Agronomic Advantages and Field Application

• Disease Resistance: The variety exhibits strong genetic resistance to powdery mildew and peach leaf curl. This allows orchard managers to significantly reduce fungicide application frequencies, lowering chemical input costs and labor hours.
• Orchard Management: Growing to a moderate height of 3–5 meters, the tree is highly manageable. This size simplifies pruning, canopy maintenance, and manual harvesting, eliminating the need for complex, heavy equipment.
• Marketable Fruit Characteristics: Weighing between 150 and 200 grams, the peaches feature a distinct creamy skin color. The flesh is firm yet juicy with a balanced sweet-and-sour profile, ensuring good shelf life and high transportability for fresh market distribution. The ease with which the pit separates from the flesh adds versatility for processing operations, such as canning or drying.

«Podarok Like» represents an optimal balance between fruit quality and production efficiency. Its superior stress tolerance minimizes the risk of crop failure under poor environmental conditions, while the ease of handling ensures a seamless workflow from orchard maintenance to post-harvest logistics.
