Peach Lesya

Technical Profile of the 'Lesya' Peach

The breeding program conducted by the M.M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine has resulted in a cultivar that combines rapid development with robust biological resistance. 'Lesya' is a product of focused breeding designed for high-performance cultivation in temperate climates.

Biological Benchmarks and Yield

The primary technical advantage of this cultivar is its precocity, with fruit production beginning as early as 2–3 years after planting. This significantly shortens the investment recovery cycle for growers. The fruit exhibits strong commercial characteristics:

• Average fruit weight: 200 grams.
• Organoleptic properties: pronounced sweetness, high aromatic intensity, and juicy texture.

Functional Solutions for Orchard Management

The technical value of this variety lies in its genetic resistance to peach leaf curl (Taphrina deformans). For commercial orchards, this enables the minimization or complete elimination of fungicide applications against this specific pathogen. The natural biological immunity of the 'Lesya' variety allows for reduced pesticide usage, facilitating eco-friendly orchard management while optimizing production costs through decreased requirements for agrochemicals and manual labor.
