The pea variety «Charysh» features indeterminate plants with unrestricted growth, reaching heights of up to 100 centimeters. Thanks to its medium foliage and significant height, this variety can be effectively used as a high-protein component for green fodder. The primary application direction for the variety is food and grain-forage use, making it versatile and in high demand in agriculture.
«Charysh» belongs to medium-maturing varieties, with a maturation period ranging from 73 to 83 days. Pea seeds contain up to 26.5% protein, ensuring high nutritional value of the product. One of the key features of the variety is its resistance to seed shedding, which significantly reduces losses during harvest and increases collection efficiency.
The variety was developed by scientists of the Altai Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology through individual selection from a hybrid combination of «Krasny Yar» and «Talovec 55» varieties. Under the conditions of the Altai Pre-Obya region, the average yield of the variety reached 26.4 centners per hectare, exceeding the standard by 1.6 centners, while the maximum yield in 2022 was 34 centners per hectare. These figures confirm the high productivity and adaptability of the «Charysh» variety to various growing conditions.
