Description
RUSLAN is a mid-season pea (Pisum sativum L.) variety intended for cultivation in the Eastern Siberia region, particularly in the Republic of Khakassia and the Republic of Tuva. This variety is characterized by a leafless form and non-shattering pods, which facilitates harvest and reduces losses. The plants have a medium or large number of nodes before the first fertile node, which promotes good development and fruiting. The leaflets of the variety are well-developed, and leaf mottling is at a medium level, indicating a healthy state of the plants and resistance to some diseases.
The flowers of the variety are white, with up to two flowers per node, which increases the potential number of pods. The pods have a weakly curved shape with a blunt tip, and the seeds are spherical with yellow cotyledons. The seed hilum is light and covered by the remnant of the seed stalk, which is a characteristic feature of the variety. These morphological features ensure high seed quality and good germination.
RUSLAN demonstrates a medium yield of about 18 centners per hectare under Eastern Siberia conditions, making it attractive to agricultural producers in this region. Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and adaptation to local climatic conditions, the variety is suitable for efficient cultivation and obtaining stable pea yields.
