Petrossa of the Chelesta variety is a medium-maturing root crop with a period from full emergence to technical maturity of 80-90 days. The leaf rosette is strong and sprawling, with dark green, shiny leaves on long petioles, making them easy to bundle. The roots are conical, pointed, smooth, without lateral roots, large, weighing 50-80 grams and 18-25 cm long. The flesh of the roots is white, and the taste qualities are good, making this variety attractive for fresh consumption.
The Chelesta variety is characterized by high yield, reaching 4-6 kg per square meter, and is excellent for winter storage. It is recommended for both fresh consumption and storage, including drying. The best preceding crops for planting Chelesta parsley are cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions.
Seed sowing is carried out early in spring or in autumn with dry seeds. In spring, seeds are sown in rows at a depth of 1-1.5 cm, spaced 3-4 cm apart in rows and 20-30 cm between rows. To speed up germination, coverings of plastic film or agrofiber are used, which are removed upon emergence of seedlings. Care for plants includes weed control, two thinning operations, and fertilizations after thinning, which are combined with watering.
