Root parsley KHARKIVYANKA.

Technological Profile of the 'Kharkivyanka' Variety

This root parsley variety, developed by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of NAAS, is a targeted solution for producers focusing on high-quality market-ready root crops within tight agrotechnical windows. The core strength of 'Kharkivyanka' lies in its optimized vegetation cycle, ranging from 75 to 80 days from emergence to technical maturity.

Functional Characteristics and Anatomy

• Root Geometry: The variety produces a uniform, conical root crop. This structural precision is vital for minimizing mechanical damage during harvest and simplifies post-harvest processing, including washing and packing.
• Internal Composition: The dense, white flesh is characterized by a high dry matter content. This consistency provides excellent storage potential, ensuring the roots maintain turgor and resist decay during winter storage.
• Leaf Architecture: The semi-erect leaf rosette facilitates efficient inter-row cultivation, ensuring better soil aeration and simplified weed management throughout the growing season.

The 'Kharkivyanka' variety is engineered for maximum soil resource utilization. The rapid maturation phase allows producers to integrate the crop seamlessly into rotation cycles, effectively bypassing the peak heat stress periods of late summer that often compromise root development in longer-cycle varieties. Its proven adaptability to Ukrainian soil and climatic conditions makes it a reliable asset for achieving consistent commercial yields.
