Dill Kudesnik

Practical Application in Farming

«Kudesnik» is a late-maturing leaf dill variety originating from Russia, specifically bred for high yields of aromatic greens. With a maturity cycle of 160–170 days, it is a strategic choice for growers looking to extend their harvest window well into late autumn.

Management Scenarios

• Processing and Drying. The extended vegetative period allows the plant to accumulate a high concentration of essential oils. This makes it an ideal choice for producers of dried herbs and spice blends.
• Harvest Sequencing. «Kudesnik» is used to fill the gap in production schedules when early-maturing varieties have already bolted or finished their season.
• Bulk Green Production. The variety forms a robust rosette of leaves. When managed with appropriate irrigation and nitrogen fertilization, it provides a consistent, high-volume yield suitable for fresh market bundling.

Farmers prioritize this variety for organized crop rotation, ensuring a steady supply of produce. Because of its long development time, field management focuses on maintaining consistent soil moisture and providing sufficient nutrients during the mid-to-late growth stages to prevent stunting and ensure the leaves remain tender and flavorful for the final harvest.
