Industrial-Grade Onion for Mechanical Harvesting

The «Viking» onion variety, developed by the Gavrish Breeding Firm and the VNIIISSOK institute, is a robust cultivar specifically engineered for large-scale operations. In a market demanding high efficiency, this variety serves as a reliable workhorse for growers focused on processing and wholesale distribution.

Key Advantages and Technical Specs

• Mechanization Readiness: The standout feature of «Viking» is its excellent suitability for mechanical harvesting. The bulbs are structurally sound, minimizing damage during bulk collection and sorting processes.
• Market Consistency: With a standardized rounded shape and a weight of 140–150 grams, this variety meets the strict size requirements of modern supermarkets and food processing facilities.
• Optimized Growth Cycle: Maturing in 100–110 days, it allows for a predictable harvest schedule, enabling farmers to manage their operations efficiently within the temperate zone.

Why Choose «Viking»?

This is not a delicate culinary variety; it is a high-performance crop designed for industrial output. «Viking» excels where other varieties might fail under the stress of mechanical sorting. If your objective is to fulfill large supply contracts with a high percentage of saleable, uniform product, this variety offers the predictability needed to maximize profitability. It is the preferred choice for producers who prioritize high-volume throughput and minimal post-harvest wastage.
