Onion CHOHO

French breeding for professional onion growers

The «Choho» onion from the Vilmorin-Mikado breeding house is a solution for those who prioritize crop consistency over experiments. French breeders have developed a hybrid focused on delivering predictable results under intensive farming conditions. The key feature of «Choho» lies in its excellent bulb uniformity and dense outer scales, making it an outstanding candidate for long-term storage.

Strengths: what sets «Choho» apart in the market

• Technological efficiency: The hybrid is adapted for mechanized harvesting, which is crucial for large-scale farming operations.
• Product quality: The bulbs boast an attractive appearance, typical of European breeding, and excellent firmness, minimizing damage during transportation.
• Resilience: The genetic potential of Vilmorin-Mikado ensures a strong immune profile, necessary to withstand common onion pathogens.

If you are looking for a variety that won't let you down when proper agronomy is applied, «Choho» is a reliable tool for your crop rotation. It is forgiving of minor maintenance errors but performs at its maximum potential when provided with quality irrigation and timely fertilization.

Who is this hybrid for?

It is optimal for professional growers focused on the retail market, where strict standards regarding size, shape, and shelf life are required. Unlike many local varieties, «Choho» produces a uniform shape, simplifying pre-sale preparation and packaging. Despite its specialization, it demonstrates excellent adaptability across various climatic zones, making it a versatile choice for modern agricultural producers.
