Onion Lira

Luk of the "Lira" variety is a fast-maturing shallot intended for autumn planting. The vegetation period lasts 72-74 days, after which slightly elongated bulbs weighing 40-50 grams with brown-pink papery skin form. This variety is distinguished by simultaneous growth of green leaves and bulbs, making it suitable for early spring greenery harvest as well as bulb harvest in early summer. Typically, 3 to 6 bulbs form in one clump.

The "Lira" variety is valued for its mild and slightly sweet taste, which is more intense than that of common bulb onions, although some descriptions note a spicy flavor. Thanks to good winter hardiness, this onion withstands cold periods well and ensures a stable yield. The bulb yield reaches 15-16.4 tons per hectare, while green leaf yield can reach up to 28 tons per hectare.

Moreover, "Lira" onion exhibits good storage capacity — the harvest can be stored for up to 10 months without loss of quality.
