Garlic MEREFSYANCKY BILYI. OZIMYI

Stability and Adaptability of Ukrainian Selection

"Merefyansky Bily" (Merefa White) garlic is a product of the research by the Institute of Vegetable and Melon Growing of the NAAS, specifically adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine. Unlike imported varieties that often require highly specific agronomic conditions, this winter variety demonstrates exceptional resistance to winter temperature fluctuations and high immunity to fungal diseases common in our soils.

Technical Specifications and Benefits

• Crop Type: winter-hardy, bolting variety.
• Market Appearance: white bulb scales with subtle violet streaks on the veins.
• Shelf Life: the dense bulb structure ensures long-term storage without significant weight loss or degradation of appearance.

Why Choose This Variety

The main strength of "Merefyansky Bily" is its predictability during maturation. The variety is not prone to cracking, which minimizes losses during mechanical harvesting. A high concentration of essential oils provides a rich, sharp flavor that is valued in both the fresh market and for processing. The downside, common to many winter varieties, is the necessity of strictly adhering to planting schedules: late planting can negatively affect root system development and overall frost resistance.

Who Is This Variety For?

This is an optimal solution for farming businesses aiming for stability. Thanks to its strong outer scales, the crop withstands transportation well, making it attractive for retail distribution networks. The high density of the cloves also makes it convenient for storage in standard vegetable warehouse conditions.
