Onion GENERAL'SKY

Stability and Yield: Why Professionals Choose the «Generalsky» Onion

In the market of onion hybrids, the «Generalsky» variety from the «Heterosis Breeding» (Geterozisnaya selektsiya) company occupies a niche of high-yield crops focused on commercial production. Developed with the participation of «Mars» agricultural firm and «Vashe Khozyaystvo», this onion was designed to meet the demands of farmers seeking a balance between early maturity and long-term storage capability.

Agrotechnical Features and Potential

The key characteristic that sets «Generalsky» apart is its impressive yield, reaching up to 100 tons per hectare. For a salad-type onion that matures in up to 90 days, this figure makes it one of the most profitable solutions for open-field cultivation. The elliptical shape of the bulb, combined with dense bronze-yellow scales, is not only aesthetic but also functional: it ensures high resistance to damage during manual harvesting.

Storage as the Main Advantage

The primary challenge for early and mid-early varieties is the short shelf life of their marketable appearance after harvest. However, «Generalsky» challenges this stereotype: when the temperature regime is maintained, the vegetable retains its freshness and taste qualities for up to 9-10 months. This allows farmers to avoid rushing sales during the peak season, waiting instead for more favorable market conditions in the spring, which significantly increases business profitability.
