PRIDE OF SIBERIA — a mid-season onion shallot variety, excellently suited for cultivation as a two-year crop from sets. The bulbs have an oval shape and a yellow color with dry scales, inside which are located white juicy scales with a semi-sharp taste, possessing a light spiciness and sweetness. The mass of one bulb reaches up to 130-138 grams, and 5-6 bulbs form in one bulbil cluster, ensuring a stable and high yield — up to 2.5-4 kg per square meter. The variety is characterized by resistance to bolting and can be grown both in spring and winter culture. The leaves of the variety are large, long — up to 60 cm, green and tender, they retain freshness for a long time and do not yellow, which allows them to be used as greens for an extended period. The period from germination to green harvesting is about 23 days, and to mass leaf drooping — 55 days. Thanks to early bulb maturity, the variety is not susceptible to such diseases as downy mildew, alternaria, and bacterial rots, which significantly eases care and improves crop quality. PRIDE OF SIBERIA is distinguished by high yield and good bulb preservation, which can be stored for up to 315 days, allowing them to be used until the next harvest. The variety is recommended for regions with a short growing season and a moderate climate, which makes it a universal and reliable choice for gardeners. Planting is usually carried out in the third decade of September, which contributes to successful development and formation of a quality crop.
