Description Afonya
The AFONIA onion is a shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) recommended for cultivation in a biennial culture. This medium-late maturing variety is characterized by a broadly egg-shaped bulb weighing up to 30 grams. The dry scales of the bulb are dark red, numbering 3-4, while the juicy scales have a reddish tint. The neck of the bulb is thin, which facilitates harvesting and storage.

The dry matter content in the bulbs of the AFONIA variety reaches 8.5%, providing the semi-sharp taste characteristic of this variety. The initial bulb formation is moderate, with 4-5 bulbs forming in one clump, contributing to high yield. Maturity before harvest is 100%, guaranteeing high-quality crop collection.

The yield of the variety reaches 2.0 kg per square meter, making it attractive for cultivation in personal subsidiary holdings. The variety is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation and is recommended for cultivation in all regions of the country, confirming its adaptability and stability in various climatic conditions.
