Maize Grimaldi

German Breeding Excellence

The Grimaldi maize hybrid from Dieckmann GmbH&Co.KG embodies the German approach to high-quality planting material. As a simple hybrid, it represents years of research focused on maximizing productivity, delivering excellent results in both grain yield and silage mass for livestock production.

Agronomic Profile and Potential

With an FAO range of 90–1240, the Grimaldi variety offers flexibility for farm planning. Its flint-dent grain type ensures superior moisture dry-down during maturation, which is critical for reducing post-harvest drying costs. A robust stalk and a highly developed root system allow the hybrid to thrive in diverse soil conditions, maintaining consistent yields even under moderate environmental stress.

Disease Resistance and Management

A primary advantage of Grimaldi is its genetic tolerance to common maize pathogens. Dieckmann’s breeding program emphasizes resistance to Fusarium and common smut, significantly reducing the risks to grain quality and silage nutritional value. Agronomists note that utilizing this hybrid minimizes the need for intensive fungicide applications, offering a more efficient approach to crop protection.

• Use Case: Versatile (suitable for both grain and silage).
• Recommended Plant Density: 80,000–85,000 plants/ha to fully unlock yield potential.
• Reputation: A trusted choice for farms prioritizing intensive agriculture and a stable feed supply.
