Description PERSHERON
Persheron is a spring barley (Avena sativa L.) variety characterized by a medium maturity period and a naked-grain plant type. It differs in medium height and resistance to lodging, ensuring reliability during cultivation. The variety is valued for its high grain quality, with a natural weight of 560 to 690 g/L and a protein content ranging from 13.7-22.1%, making it in demand for the food industry.

Persheron is undemanding regarding cultivation conditions and recommended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central and Volga-Vyatsk regions, as well as the Northwestern region and Yaroslavl region. The average yield of the variety varies depending on the region and conditions, reaching an average of 24.2-35.5 c/ha, with maximum indicators up to 51.8 c/ha, indicating its high productivity.

Despite a number of advantages, the variety is susceptible to certain diseases, such as powdery scab, crown rust, and red-brown spotting, as well as to pests, for example, the Swedish fly. The mass of 1000 grains ranges from 34 to 41 grams, which further confirms the high quality and commercial appearance of the grain. Persheron is the result of breeding by FGБNU FANZ of the Northeast and is intended for obtaining high-quality grain with good technological characteristics.
