Description Pegas
PEGAS is a medium-late variety of spring oats (Avena sativa L.) with a growing period of 73 to 86 days, ripening 1-3 days later than the Korifei variety. It is recommended for cultivation in the Western Siberia region, including the Kulundinskaya Steppe and the Forest-steppe of the Salair foothills of the Altai Territory. The average yield of the variety in these regions is about 29.6 c/ha, with maximum yield indicators reaching 58.8 c/ha in the Tomsk region. Protein content in the grain varies from 9.5% to 11.9%, making this variety attractive for the production of feed and food products.

The PEGAS variety has moderate resistance to powdery mildew, however, it is susceptible to crown rust, which requires the application of appropriate agrotechnical and protective measures to maintain crop health and ensure stable yields. Due to its characteristics, the variety is suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones with a moderate climate.

To protect oats crops PEGAS from fungal diseases, the use of the systemic fungicide Pegas containing the active substance prochloraz in a concentration of 450 g/l is recommended. This preparation effectively prevents and treats a wide range of fungal diseases by inhibiting ergosterol biosynthesis in pathogen cells, leading to the destruction of their cell walls and death of mycelium. The fungicide is applied at a rate of 1.0 l/ha with a working solution consumption of 200-300 l/ha and belongs to the chemical group of imidazoles, ensuring reliable protection of oat crops and other grain crops.
