The 'Parlamentskyi' oat variety is the result of long-term research by breeders at the Institute of Agricultural Microbiology and Agro-Industrial Production of the NAAS of Ukraine. Officially registered in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2009, this variety was designed as a reliable tool for farms operating in the Forest-Steppe and Polissya regions. Its introduction addressed the need for a stable spring oat variety capable of combining an intensive growth type with high adaptability to the variable climate of these zones.

Agrobiological Profile

‘Parlamentskyi’ is a mid-early variety, allowing for the efficient use of spring moisture. The plant features an erect habit and medium stem height, which minimizes lodging risks. Key morphological characteristics include:

• A spreading panicle with semi-erect branches.
• White color of the lemma with no pubescence on the back.
• Absence or very weak awns, which simplifies the threshing process.
• Short rachilla of the second grain and short basal hairs.

The variety demonstrates high technological efficiency: the absence of pubescence on the sheaths of the lower leaves and the edges of the leaf blades simplifies crop maintenance. Early panicle emergence ensures the formation of high-quality grain before the onset of peak summer temperatures.
