Ofenya is a spring oat (Avena sativa L.) variety of naked-seeded type, intended for grain-forage and food use. It belongs to medium-maturing varieties with a vegetative period ranging from 80 to 92 days, depending on growing conditions. The plants are medium-height, reaching up to 90 cm, and possess resistance to lodging, drought, powdery mildew, and loose smut, as well as moderate susceptibility to crown rust and powdery mildew. The mass of 1000 grains varies from 27 to 35 grams, while grain natures is 555-620 g/l, indicating high grain quality. The Ofenya variety is characterized by high yield: average figures reach 21.3-26.6 c/ha, while maximum yield can exceed 61.7 c/ha, which was recorded in Tyumen in 2019. The grain contains up to 18% protein and up to 9% oil, as well as exchange energy in the range of 11.5-12.3 MJ, making it valuable for both forage and food purposes. Shattering of covered grains is minimal - about 1.3%, which increases flour yield to 90% with high product quality. Flour indicators and porridge taste are rated at 4.0-4.5 points, confirming good technological properties of the variety. Ofenya is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones, in particular in the Western Siberia and Eastern Siberia regions, including the Krasnoyarsk Krai, Republic of Khakassia, and Republic of Tuva. The variety is well adapted to local conditions, resistant to grain shedding and sprouting on the root, which facilitates agricultural measures and increases yield stability. Thanks to its characteristics and universal application, Ofenya is a reliable choice for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high-quality grain and feed.
